Not a New Day

Despite what you were promised, it is not a new day. You might be elated that your candidate won, or miserable because he lost. Will we have the change promised? No. The world will be the same, and it didn't matter who won. It wouldn't have been a "new day" either way, and change will not come.

Man will still scheme, and God will still laugh. People will plot and plan, and God will yet be sovereign on His throne. The nations rage, the world will melt with His voice.

It was funny as I opened the Word last night after the election. I'm not one of those who read where my Bible opens, but it doesn't usually open to Daniel. When the Lord spoke to Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 4, he said " the Lord is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes."

We serve a mighty, powerful God. He is in control no matter the situation. Blessed be His name.
