We can’t see what’s happening; that’s why it is called faith. We can’t see and don’t know why certain things happen or why we have different trials. God does.
When I was 10 years old someone close to me was involved in a serious car wreck. There was whiplash and damage to ligaments and the back. This person was in traction and therapy for a long time. They went months in a neck brace, and could only sit in a straight back chair . Total recovery was over two years.
This person had accepted Christ two decades before. They went to church. God was important, but not first and foremost. One child thought that they were ‘loosening up” before the wreck, starting to let some things slide. Yet during this recovery they pored themselves into His Word, and found a connection they didn’t have before. They totally committed to Him, and never looked back. During this time their spouse, always a churchgoer, accepted Christ, as did another child.
Was the wreck God’s plan? Is disease, or hardship? Our God is sovereign , and the Word says He will finish the work He started in us.
We don’t know what’s happening, but He does.
