As I drove to work yesterday, I was listening to Candi Pearson sing Sing to the King on the Best of Passion So Far CD. She sang about waiting for the Lord's return, we watch and we pray. Being ready for His return. My thoughts went to my daughter.
My daughter is getting ready for her prom. She's a junior, and she's been planning this for a long time. She went shopping in different cities, and online. She found some dresses she liked, but those weren't in her budget(or her mother's). Finally she got one off eBay from China, after losing out last minute on two others. We've had to tan, get matching shoes, and find the right necklace-all this and keep in her budget. It's taken alot of time, and anxiety, and stress. An interesting time for Dad.
I can hardly wait until her wedding.
It does take preparation. A prom. Even more so a wedding. Our waiting on the Lord's return does. It takes patience, and action, and waiting. We (the church) are His bride. We need to make ourselves holy and pure. What bride would show up on her wedding day in jeans and t-shirt? We need to be ready to serve our King.
Are we?
You are listen to Candi Pearson and read the lyrics here-
